What is a Matter Archive?
- A Matter Archive is a downloadable ZIP file containing all the data from your Lupl Matter, including Workstreams, Key Dates, Channel Messages, Pins, and Lupl Drive documents.
When do Matter Archives become available?
- Matter Archives are available throughout the course of a Matter whilst active.
- Matter Archives are also available up to 90 days after a Matter after it has been closed.
- 90 days is the default, but firms can specify the retention period depending on their policies.
Where can I find Matter Archives?
- Within the Details section of each Lupl matter, each team member has an option to generate a Matter Archive.
- Once the archive is generated, a notification with a download link will appear.
- Once the archive is generated, a notification with a download link will appear.
-
Firm Admins can also generate and download archives from the Administrator Tools.
Notes on Matter Archives:
- A Matter Archive ZIP file is available for download for all Team Members on the matter.
- If external integrated storage is still connected at the point of closure, a Matter Archive is automatically downloaded to your connected storage folder. Otherwise we strongly recommend you download the Matter Archive at the point of matter closure and storing it in your system of record.
- After 90 days the matter and commensurate archives will be permanently deleted from Lupl. Lupl does not generate reminders notifying you the 90th day is approaching.
- Once a Matter is closed, it cannot be reopened or archived.
What is included in the Matter Archive?
Matter Archives are provided as a zipped (compressed) file folder containing easily readable text files along with folders for Matter Channel Documents and Pins.
Note: For matters connected to Lupl Drive, you will also have a folder of Matter Documents included. For matters connected to external storage, those documents already exist in your document management system.
- Documents.txt provides the path to any connected storage locations as well as the list of document names, dates, and name of person who added the file.
- MatterChannel.txt provides a transcript of all activities and conversations that took place in the matter channel, including details of who joined the matter and when, all conversations, integration connections and other activity updates which appear in the Matter Channel.
- MatterDetails.txt provides an output of all the core matter information, including who created the matter and when.
- Milestones.txt lists out all matter milestones.
- Pulse.txt provides a record of updates to the matter status.
- Tasks.txt lists out all matter task lists and tasks.
- Team.txt provides a record of everyone who joined the matter, their organization (if available), and which users left the matter.
