Workstream enhancements: A variety of improvements to enhance the user experience for our workstreams including;

Unread messages notifications: In response to user feedback, we are updating the unread messages email to be more informative and useful.
Calendar Filter Improvements: as we continue to refine the Matter Calendar, we have made a number of UX improvements for the filters including; UI tweaks for active defaults, select/clear all for more options, email as well as names for assignee.

Relative due dates for Workstreams – did a date slip that pushed the deadlines out for other tasks? No more need to worry about manually updating dates that are dependent on another item - add relative due dates to automate changes so you don’t have to!
Documents 2.0 - SharePoint/OneDrive: support for SharePoint/OneDrive with our new integration on all platforms.
Document cards in Matter Channel messages: drag and drop your documents into the Channel, write your message and post in a seamless flow – using our new document message cards.
Full support for iOS sorting and filtering: we have extended our sorting & filtering functionality across all types of Workstreams, previously limited to Tasks.
Improvement to import Workstreams – Users can now import Workstreams directly from the create new Workstream modal.
Improvement to home page tasks – we have included the ability to check off your tasks directly from the home page.
Connect storage from Workstream flow – be prompted to connect storage, if not already connected, when adding a new document to a Workstream item.
New home page: we are thrilled to share with you that the the Loop has been replaced with a new user experience making it easier and faster to get find the information you need and get where you need to go. The home page view is also customisable! You can customise your "Collaborators" for resource management and your "Favorite Matters" for quick and convenient access.
New public API to automatically create Matters: firms can now integrate the Lupl Matter creation action directly into their practice management systems. For example, a firm could automate things so that a Lupl matter is created with a particular template every time a matter is created in their PMS.
Documents 2.0 - NetDocs: we now have full support for Net Documents with our new integration on all platforms - Web, iOS and Android.
Default Matter landing page - Lupl now remembers the last area (e.g., Workstreams) you worked on within a Matter and will automatically set that as the default landing page.
Workstream filtering & sorting on mobile - task sorting and filtering has been added to iOS and Android.

Increased single and multi-select option limit to 50: Tracking laws in 50 countries? No problem! The multi-select and single-select drop down can now support up to 50 custom options.
Support for iManage Cloud.
Seamless access to DMS files and folders: Every Lupl matter can be connected to a workspace in the firm’s DMS, and authenticated users can easily view and access the entirety of the connected DMS workspace from within Lupl.
Open in Microsoft Word: The system allows users to open their files directly in Microsoft Word (as well as other applications such as Excel and PowerPoint).
Share DMS files into Lupl: users can now add a file directly from their connected DMS workspace into Lupl.
Enhanced version control: Users can share documents as attachments or dynamic links, ensuring that everyone accesses the latest version.
Assign Tasks on Documents: Documents can be added directly to checklists, task lists, or project plans – so the work to be done and the work product sit side-by-side.
Absolute respect for permissions and ethical walls: This update leverages user authentication, ensuring that the underlying permissions from the DMS are automatically respected in Lupl, with no exceptions.

Roles and Permissions - Stage 1: Want to invite others to your matter, but don’t want them to have access to Documents? Or maybe you want to collaborate on documents but have an internal only workflow that you want to utilize Workstreams for? Introducing Stage 1 of our Roles and Permissions feature – allowing you to lock down any part of the matter to others using customized matter roles!
Custom Workstreams for Matter Templates: Create custom Workstreams to suit your needs and publish them as a Matter Template for other users in your organization.
Copy Matter Channel Email: You can now easily see and copy the Matter Channel email directly from the channel itself.
Auto-fill Client on Matter Creation: Select from a list of previously used Client names when creating a new Matter.
General UI/UX improvements:
- All Matters Sort & Filter improvements: improvements to the filter and sort on the All Matters page, as well as a new option to sort your Matters alphabetically by name.
- Workstreams UX Improvement: Easily add new options to the Single and Multi-select Workstream columns by hitting enter after adding each option.

Create Workstreams with AI: Lupl AI will utilize custom Workstream types to help you build out a Matter when using the Create with AI prompt.
General UI/UX improvements:
- Create Matter Modal: you can now add Client, Matter No., and more during Matter Creation.
- Workstreams: resize any column in a Workstream and add single/multi-select options inline, without having to edit the column.
- No-Code Forms: increased character limit for the Form title and description, ability to save a draft of your form without publishing it, and a new progress modal will display when attaching larger files to a form.
iOS and Android Edit Workstream Fields: add and edit content in the custom fields of Workstreams on the go, now available on both iOS and Android.

Q3 2023

In October 2023 we released the second generation of the Lupl platform. This is our most extensive update since our launch in 2021. The new Lupl features customization and automation capabilities as well as enhanced integrated knowledge options.

Workstreams: A powerful and flexible tool to help you plan, develop a scope, budget, work plan and more, using templates, a previous matter, or Lupl’s building blocks.
No-Code Forms: An automated, no-code form builder for intake, counsel coordination, client feedback and more. Forms lets you capture the information you need for your matter with zero manual effort.
Lupl AI: Streamline the scoping and planning of matters with integrated AI. Build a complete matter in seconds with a text prompt (example: pasted from your term sheet or engagement letter) or by forwarding an email thread.
Increased File Size Limits: File size limit increased from 50mb to 100mb per document.
Track Signature Status: Through our Docusign integration, you can now track Signature Status without leaving Lupl.
Integrated Knowledge: Templates are are now available at the start of the matter or as modular components midway through the matter, so you can access actionable knowledge throughout the matter lifecycle.
Enhanced Views: The new “Matters” screen provides better visibility of matter progress and health. You get a bird’s eye view of how matters are progressing, with the ability to see real-time progress bars and sort by client or tag.
Fresh Interface and Enhanced Notifications: Lupl’s user interface will feature improved navigation and centralized notifications to keep you updated on important events and ensure you never miss a beat.

Import Tasks: with just a few clicks you can bring in your matter tasks from the global knowledge base or from any of your previous matters.
Automatic email attachments: now document attachments from emails sent into the matter channel are automatically brought directly into the matter documents, removing the need to move them manually each time.
Save Matter as Template: template admins can now select any one of their matters to automatically become a new matter template.
Clone Matter: quickly re-use content from a previous matter to setup a new one. You can choose to copy over Tasks, Pins, Milestones and Details or all of the above.
iOS: Improvements and UI/UX changes
- Task Details Redesign: A number of improvements to the Tasks details UI.
- Rename Documents: Ability for users to rename documents on iOS.
Android:
- DM Chat: DM chat is now available on Android devices – with the full suite of features users currently enjoy on iOS and Web.
Document Preview Performance: we have made significant changes to our Document Preview to allow the faster loading of pages.

Unread Notifications Centre filters and live updates: get live updates for all notifications without needing to refresh the feed. Quickly filter and drill down to the notifications that are important to you – either by matter or by type.
iManage Folders & Docs Rename: Users will be able to rename folders and documents when connected to their iManage DMS. The rename will work both ways.
iOS: Improvements and UI/UX changes
- Task Redesign: A number of improvements to the Tasks UI, including the ability to quickly add new tasklists inline.
- Search Documents: ability to search contents of documents using the global search – only for those matters on Lupl Drive.
App Performance improvements: we are continuing to work on improving the overall performance of the app, in particular for our Singapore users, but also for our Tasks page. Work is also ongoing to improve the UI in iOS to keep the app as sharp as it needs to be!

Task Priorities: Users are able to assign a priority level to their tasks.
iManage Subfolders: If you're an iManage customer, you can now create, read, update and delete subfolder.
@Mention people in Document Comments: Users are able to @ mention users in Lupl when adding comments to documents in Lupl! These will also show up on the feed to make sure the users have visibility.
Unread Notifications Centre: Users can check all the latest unread notifications from Lupl in one place without having to rely solely on push notifications or emails.
Document Version Comparison: run comparisons against different versions of the same document using our built in compareDocs integration.
General UI/UX improvements:
- Channel message reply icon: tweak to the icon to make it more obvious to users where they can reply to a channel message
- Task deletion confirmation: a confirmation modal when deleting tasks in a matter to stop those accidental deletions.
- Enterprise Controls sorting for matters: quick and easy dynamic sorting across all columns in the Matter Management page of the Enterprise Controls.
- Enterprise Controls matter filters: improvements to the filters for the Matter Management page.
iOS: Improvements and UI/UX changes
- Task Priorities: Users are able to view, add and edit priorities for matter tasks in iOS.
- Fast Tasks: fast add tasks while inside a task list.
- Create folder iManage: ability to create new folders for matters connected to iManage DMS.
App Performance improvements: Enhanced performance of large matters with high number of users.
Android: Folders & Sub Folders: You can now:
- View documents within folders in Matter Documents
- Create new folders and subfolders from the Matter Documents.
- Edit and delete folders from the Matter Documents.
Intune iOS: We have the ability to support Microsoft Intune, allowing firms to take advantage of the extra layer of security across managed iOS devices.

Fast Add Task: quickly add multiple tasks within the matter by simply typing the task name, hitting enter, and moving right on to the next one.
Major Enhancements to Email Notifications:
- Channel @ mentions roll-up email: Never miss a channel @ mention again! Any @ mentions in the matter channel that remain unread will be sent to you as an email within 10 minutes, on a per matter basis.
- Direct Message roll-up email: Never miss a Direct Message chat again! You will receive an email with details of any direct messages sent to you that remain unread within 10 minutes.
- Document comments @ mentions rollup email: The @ mention comments on documents will also be included on the email with the @ mention channel messages.
General UI/UX Improvements:
- 3 Pin Menu UI/UX Improvements: We improved the 3 pin menu across tasks, documents, the matter channel and pins. We have brought out the important and most used options to be available quickly when you hover over using your mouse.
- Channel noise clean up: We removed unnecessary activity messaging in the channel, to reduce the noise - including deleted documents and bridge creation messages.
- Connected Apps Removal: We removed the ‘Connected App’ page from the Me Menu.
iOS: Improvements and UI/UX changes
- Task Redesign: We released a quicker way to create task lists and add tasks to them, as well as adding a more polished and easy to use date picker when adding due dates to tasks.
- Channel noise clean up: We removed unnecessary activity messaging in the channel, to reduce the noise - including deleted documents and bridge creation messages.
Android: Create and Edit tasks: You are now able to:
- Create new tasks and task lists from the Matter Tasks.
- Edit and delete tasks from the Matter Tasks.
Roles and Entitlements: We moved the configuration of the Template Authoring and Enterprise Controls roles into the Lupl Organisation management page. This allows roles to be set up prior to users logging into Lupl.

Net Docs Subfolders & Version History. If you're a Net Docs customer, you can now create, read, update and delete subfolders, as well as view and access Version History for each document.
Administrator Tools. Organizational admins now have the ability to close matters, download archives, and show or hide closed matters.
Notifications. You will now get automatically notified via e-mail when you have tasks assigned to you. If multiple tasks are assigned to you in a 20-minute window of time, those tasks will get rolled up into one single email notification, so as to avoid cluttering up your inbox.
iOS. When a new version of a document is uploaded, you'll see a new activity in your Matter Channel.
Android. You can now upload a single document in the Documents tab.

Create New Documents within Lupl! For all users using Lupl Storage (soon to become Lupl Drive), you can now create Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx) and PowerPoint (.pptx) documents without leaving the platform.
Tasks and Tasks Lists are now easier to create! You can also now create a task within a matter without tying it to a Task List.
Activity Feed has moved to the top right hand corner of the screen, allowing users to easily view everything that happened while they were gone and everything coming up on their matters (web only).
Easily invite others to join you in Lupl. Adding contacts and team members to Lupl is easier now that we moved the Invite to Lupl button to the top of the app (web only).
We got a makeover! Lupl got a bit of a facelift. You'll notice new global menu options that make moving your legal work forward even easier. We've also updated the Tasks Tab in the Matter Toolkit, making creating Tasks and Tasks Lists even easier!
